Giving Parents the Opportunity to Learn Like Pros

Parenting is one of the most complex, important roles there are (especially when your child is in his or her first five years). And yet, most people are expected to figure it out in real time, all by themselves.

Early childhood teachers are often the people your children spend the most time with - right after you. So why are teachers equipped with so much more knowledge and preparation than parents?

Early childhood educators spend years learning about child development: how children think, what their behavior means, how relationships shape learning, and how to respond in ways that actually support growth.

Parents are rarely given that same foundation.

Professional Parenthood was created to change that.

What this is (and what it isn’t)

This isn’t parenting advice.

It’s not about telling you what kind of parent to be, or giving you rigid scripts to follow.

Instead, this is about giving you access to the same kinds of knowledge and frameworks that educators use every day—so you can understand what’s actually happening underneath your child’s behavior.

Because when you understand the “why,” your response naturally shifts.

The idea behind it

At the core of Professional Parenthood is a simple belief:

If we expect parents to support children’s development, we should give them the same tools and understanding we give professionals.

Behavior isn’t random.
It’s not manipulation.
It’s not a sign that something is “wrong.”

It’s communication.

And when you start to see it that way, everything changes—how you interpret what’s happening, how you respond, and how you relate to your child.

Hi! I’ Nina. I’m an early childhood educator and instructional coach with a background in both psychology and early education. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Developmental Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Human Learning & Development.

I’ve spent years working directly with young children as a preschool teacher, and now I coach teachers in understanding development, behavior, and relationships in the classroom. My work has focused not just on what to do, but on why—helping adults make sense of children in a deeper, more connected way.

Over time, I kept coming back to the same question:

Why is this knowledge mostly reserved for professionals?

Parents are navigating the same behaviors, the same emotions, the same developmental stages—often with far less support.

Professional Parenthood is my way of bridging that gap.

How I work with families

Through consultations, resources, and courses, I provide insight into child development science and translate challenges into real-life situations.

That might look like:

  • Making sense of a pattern you’re stuck in

  • Understanding what’s driving a specific behavior

  • Thinking through how to respond in a way that aligns with your child’s development

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach, because every child and every family is different.

But there are patterns, principles, and ways of seeing children that can make things feel a lot clearer—and a lot less overwhelming.

Why this matters

When parents have access to this kind of understanding, it doesn’t just change behavior, it changes relationships.

It creates more empathy.
More confidence.
More steadiness in hard moments.

And ultimately, it helps create kids who will grow up to be regulated, kind, successful adults.
